Marvelyn Brown, a 24-year-old native Tennessean, has moved both live and television audiences around the United States, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and South Africa with her compelling personal story of being diagnosis with HIV at 19. Now as the CEO and HIV Consultant of New York based consulting firm, Marvelous Connections, her message is simple, Be Responsible, Get Educated and Get Tested! Her highly anticipated autobiography, The Naked Truth: Young, Beautiful and (HIV) Positive, was released from Amistad/Harpercollins on August 19, 2008.

The Emmy Award Winning AIDS Activist has spoken at over 50 colleges and universities world-wide. Marvelyn also has had extensive radio and television experience—some highlights include The Oprah Winfrey Show discussing HIV/AIDS in America, CNN Documentary Black in America hosted by Soledad O’Brien and the rising infection rate among women, America’s Next Top Model, MTV, BET, The Tavis Smiley Show, TheMichael Baisden and The Tyra Banks Show. In addition, she has been featured in Newsweek, Essence, Black Beat, Fortune 500, Ebony, Real Health, HIV Plus and she appeared on the cover of POZ, the AVE and most recently A&U Magazine.

She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
